Reaching Honduras For Christ
April 2019 Newsletter

Blessings Faithful Friends!

We pray this letter finds you richly blessed and drawing closer to our Lord Jesus daily!

Otniel and I have been busy with our first team season of 2019. We have been blessed to host 15 teams in the last 4 months! With every team we have seen new opportunities to minister to and serve alongside team members, new souls coming to Christ, new friendships, and opportunities to reconnect with friendships already made.

Earlier this month, we traveled stateside for Otniel to share at the WGO Spring Board Meeting about development plans for the ministry. This was also an opportunity for us to take a couple of days to celebrate our 2-year wedding anniversary.

We are currently in the process of gearing up for our 2nd busy team season, which starts at the end of May and runs through August.

One of the highlights of this year was coordinating and leading worship for a WGO Honduras Ministry Retreat. This was an opportunity to connect with all of the staff and missionaries, both from the Mission House and Rancho Ebenezer. We learned about “Nurturing the Inner Life”, self-care, nurturing our relationship with Christ, and team building.

This was a wonderful time of fellowship, worship, sharing, studying scripture individually, and participating in group activities!

Another highlight of ministry life is seeing God’s provision for the children of Rancho Ebenezer. The Lord has blessed the Ranch with two new vehicles, which provide safe transportation for activities with our kids. Otniel and I worked hard doing research and visiting dealerships to find the right vehicles for the Ranch needs. We enjoyed experiencing the kids’ excitement when they went to pick up the vehicles at the dealerships.

On the Home Front...

More and more Otniel and I have felt called to connect with our missionaries and Honduran staff on a more personal level. In January, God provided us with the opportunity to make some renovations to our storage garage to turn it into a fully functioning guest apartment. This has become a way for us to bless others and an opportunity for fellowship, to show hospitality, provide a retreat, and to pour into our friends and loved ones.

If you’re ever visiting Tegucigalpa, just know you have a place that welcomes you. We like to say, “Mi casa es tu casa”, “My house is your house”.

But There Is A Need...

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6

This is a scripture we cling to often as we serve the Lord faithfully in Honduras.

One of the challenges of being on the mission field is raising financial support and properly voicing our needs while being overseas. Often, we find that it is easier to raise support and share the needs of the children at the Ranch, or the ministry as a whole, rather than sharing about our personal needs. We bless the Lord for the foundation of prayer that supports our calling and we thank every one of you who have financially supported us and have allowed us to minister and to serve the people of Honduras through WGO. However, for different reasons, our financial support has decreased over the past couple of years and we need to build it back up.

Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us as we serve faithfully through WGO Honduras? We cannot do this without you…

If you feel led to partner with us financially, you can do so online by clicking  Support

Finally, other ways that you can be praying with us are:
  • Praise! We praise the Lord for his faithfulness, as we both will be reaching one more year of service with WGO this summer.
  • Praise! We praise the Lord for giving us good health throughout this year.
  • Praise! We praise the Lord for the relationships being built within and around our ministry.
  • We continue to pray for our desire to start a family.
  • We pray that we would be spirit-led, wise, and discerning as ministry plans develop for the upcoming year.
  • We pray for opportunities to connect with new financial partners.

Thank you for your partnership with us as we work together to serve the people of Honduras through WGO!

Please let us know how we can be praying for you!

Yours in Christ,
